The PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning was created in 1988 by PacifiCorp, an electric utility in Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Idaho and northern California.

Originally named the PacifiCorp Foundation, it has been endowed by PacifiCorp and its subsidaries, and by ScottishPower, which merged with PacifiCorp in 1999.

The Foundation is the third largest utility-endowed foundation in the United States. It has been determined to be a qualified private nonprofit charitable entity by the Internal Revenue Service.

The mission of the Foundation is to foster strategic sustainable learning initiatives that serve the best aspirations of individuals, organizations and communities, and that enhance and develop their capabilities to address significant challenges and opportunities.
